How to Share the Formula Column
Automating Formula Transfer between Boards
With the latest update of Same Item Multiple Boards on monday.com, the Connected Boards column is now supported.
While the Formula column is still not fully supported, this article demonstrates a useful workaround to transfer formulas between boards effectively using the Connected Boards feature.
Steps:
Open the target board.
Add a "Connected Boards" column.
Connect the source board where the formula column exists.
Add a mirror column and select the formula column as the source.
Go to Automate > Templates and search for "connect."
Select the recipe: "When column changes, connect the item where this column matches another column in another board."
Choose a trigger column (e.g., status).
Connect items based on matching columns, typically the Name column.
Ensure columns are matched correctly between boards.
Change the status of an item in the source board to trigger the automation.
Verify the item appears in the connected boards column on the target board.
Check the mirror column to confirm the formula output is displayed.
