How Updates Between Boards Work in Same Item Multiple Boards
Overview
The Same Item Multiple Boards app allows you to synchronize updates across multiple boards in monday.com. This means that any update you post on an item that exists on two or more boards will be reflected on all associated boards.
Automatic Synchronization
No Initial Setup Required: The synchronization feature works automatically without needing any setup.
Authorization Required: To activate this functionality, you must authorize the app. If updates from a user are not reflecting on other boards, it is likely because the user has not authorized the app.
How to Authorize the App
Authorization Prompt: If you have not provided authorization, you will see an "Authorize" button on the "Same Item Multiple Boards" tab.
Authorize: Click the "Authorize" button. A new tab will open; click "Authorize" in this tab to grant the necessary permissions.
Once authorized, your updates will start syncing across all linked boards.
Alterntivaely, you can also click on this link; https://auth.monday.com/oauth2/authorize?client_id=9d9d91f40e511e3954b7d1df7184115e and click on the blue "Authorize" button at the bottom.
Blocking Updates
You can prevent updates from being synchronized between boards by using recipes. Here's how:
Navigate to the Integration Center:
Go to the Integration Center in monday.com.
Find the "Same Item Multiple Boards" app.
Select a Recipe:
Prevent All Updates: Choose the recipe "When update is posted, do not add it to other boards" to block updates from syncing to any board.
Prevent Specific Updates: Choose the recipe "When update is posted, do not add it to [board]" to block updates from syncing to a specific board.
By using these recipes, you can control which updates are shared and which are not, providing you with greater flexibility in managing your boards.
