How to Reinstall or Replace a Webhook Owner on a Board

If columns on your board are not syncing between boards, the issue is often related to the webhook owner. This guide explains how to quickly fix it.

When Do You Need This?

You may need to reinstall or replace a webhook owner when:

  • Columns stop syncing between connected boards
  • A webhook was disabled or deleted
  • The original webhook owner left the account or lost permissions
  • You need to transfer webhook ownership to another user

Refreshing or replacing the webhook owner will restore column syncing.

This method reinstalls all webhooks under your user account, restoring the sync.

  1. Open any item on the affected board
  2. Click the Same Item Multiple Boards tab in the item view
  3. Click the Settings icon (gear icon) in the top-right corner of the view
  4. Click Board Settings
  5. Select all webhooks from the list
  6. Click the Refresh button

All webhooks will be reinstalled under your user, and column syncing will resume.

Method 2: Set a Webhook Owner Manually

If you prefer to assign a specific person as the webhook owner:

  1. Open any item on the affected board
  2. Click the Same Item Multiple Boards tab in the item view
  3. Click the Person icon in the top-right corner of the view
  4. Select the user you want to set as the new webhook owner

The selected user will become the owner of the board’s webhooks, and syncing will resume.

Good to Know

  • The webhook owner must have previously authorized the Same Item Multiple Boards app (i.e., completed the app’s authorization process) for syncing to work properly.
  • After refreshing, allow a few moments for the sync to fully restore
  • This process does not affect your existing shared items or board connections
