🗑️ How to Remove Same Item Multiple Boards From a Specific Board

Understanding how SIMB detaches itself — and how to do it safely

When you install Same Item Multiple Boards (SIMB), the app becomes active on any board where at least one shared item exists.

Because of how SIMB works, there is no manual button to “remove” the app from a board.

Instead, SIMB automatically removes itself from a board once all shared items have been removed or unlinked.

This article explains exactly how to do that — safely.

🧭 Before You Start: Check Where Shared Items Exist

If you’re not sure which boards still have shared items, you can check it directly from the app:

🔍 How to check shared-item usage

  1. Open the Same Item Multiple Boards app from your tem view.
  2. Go to Settings > Usage.
  3. There you’ll see a list of all boards where SIMB has shared items.

This is the quickest way to identify which boards still keep the app active and need cleanup.

âś… How SIMB Removes Itself From a Board

SIMB will automatically detach from a board when:

  • There are no more shared items on that board

There is no manual “remove app from board” option — the app only disappears once all linked/shared items are gone (or unlinked).

🔄 Option 1: Remove Shared Items From the Board

(Fastest method — but items will disappear from that board)

If you want SIMB to disengage completely, simply:

  1. Open the board where you want SIMB removed.
  2. Identify all SIMB-shared items (you can also use Settings > Usage to find them).
  3. Delete those items from this board only.

Once all shared items are gone, SIMB will automatically:

âś” remove the webhooks

âś” remove its automations

âś” stop syncing that board with others

If even one shared item remains on the board, the app will continue to appear.

🧷 Option 2: Unlink Items Instead of Deleting

(Recommended if you want to keep your data)

If you don’t want to lose items or information, you can unlink the shared items instead of deleting them.

  1. Open the item on the board.
  2. Click the Same Item Multiple Boards view.
  3. Uncheck the board you want to remove the item from.

This keeps the item AND its data fully intact — it just stops syncing with other boards in the future.

Once all items are unlinked:

âś” SIMB will remove itself from that board automatically.

📌 How to Confirm SIMB Was Fully Removed

SIMB has been removed successfully when:

  • The board no longer shows SIMB integration recipes
  • The board no longer appears under Settings > Usage in the app
  • No items show SIMB indicators or syncing behavior

If any shared items remain, the app will stay active.
