🔄 How Updates Between Boards Work in Same Item Multiple Boards

The Same Item Multiple Boards (SIMB) app automatically syncs updates across multiple boards on monday.com — meaning that any comment or update you post on an item that exists in two or more boards will appear on all of them.
⚙️ 1️⃣ Automatic Synchronization
No setup is required!
Once the app is authorized, all item updates will sync automatically between connected boards.
Important:
If updates from a specific user aren’t appearing across boards, that user likely hasn’t authorized the app.
🔐 2️⃣ How to Authorize the App
1️⃣ Open any item that is shared across boards.
2️⃣ Go to the Same Item Multiple Boards tab.
3️⃣ Click Authorize — a new tab will open.
4️⃣ In that tab, click Authorize again to grant permissions.
Once done, updates from this user will start syncing across all connected boards.

🚫 3️⃣ Blocking Updates Between Boards
Sometimes you might want to prevent updates from syncing between boards — for example, to keep internal conversations private or control what clients see.
You can do this using automation recipes in monday.com.
1️⃣ Go to the Integration Center in monday.com.
2️⃣ Search for the Same Item Multiple Boards app.
3️⃣ Choose one of these recipes:
- Prevent All Updates:
“When update is posted, do not add it to other boards.”
- Prevent Specific Updates:
“When update is posted, do not add it to [specific board].”
💡 Note:
Toggling the recipe on/off won’t disable it — you must delete the recipe to stop blocking updates.
